Hand-Painted portraits

-Picking the correct size-

Picking the correct size can be tough. Be sure to pick the size that will make you the happiest. I always say, “The bigger, the better". That means more space for the subject to be at the center of attention. It allows room for background details if desired and for the picture to loudly speak for itself. I try to visualize the piece hanging in its desired location so that I can get a good picture of how big of a canvas I might need.

Questions I ask myself… Is it something small that I’m looking for? or is it something that is hard to miss because its big and bold? Is this a gift? Can I spend a bit more for a bigger piece that will make me or the recipient happier?
